Multi media entry 2

Selam followers,

I think last time I misunderstood the topic “multi media entry“; so I decided to try another one!

This time I chose a song. The names of the singers are Kimbra and GOTYE; the title of the song is “Somebody that I used to know” .

I want to tell you some more things about Gotye. He is 32 years old. He has a Belgian background and was born in Australia (actually he is from Melbourne). Gotye is a drummer, plays guitar and keyboard and he is a song writer. That’s why I wanted to introduce him especially.

He wrote the song that they sing and in my opinion it is a topic that everyone could understand. Of course the song just tells us the story after a relationship and how it often comes. Once you loved each other and after breaking up you act different and this person becomes someone in your life. But I would like you to watch the video because it is an artistic one. ( I know there are a lot of comedians or shows who made fun of this video clip but in the end it was one of the best in 2012 in my opinion.)

The lyrics and the way the video is realized are awesome.

You could really see the addiction of two people in a relationship. When the text says “But you didn't have to cut me off; Make out like it never happened and that we were nothing” you can see them as a Painting together and of course it is a futuristic way of painting and it would be possible to cut him/her out easily but then it would lose effect. Than we could talk about the choice of the colors and so on but maybe you just take 4 minutes of your time and find out how it seems to you…

For me it was nice to see a new way of music video; not always the same crap with different actors.

And somehow this song will always remind me of this time here in Ankara because I think (and that makes me sad) that I won’t see a lot of people again; whom I would like to meet again! And someone I will see again but I will react like they are just somebody that I used to know and not like some people over here I will miss a lot although I only knew them for some month and sometimes saw them only once a week in class….!
